However, due to the disconnect between the rapid development of manufacturing technology and the development of the power system in China's power capacitor manufacturing enterprises, there are problems with the large capacity parallel compensation capacitor devices used in 500 kV and 220 kV substations, such as improper connection with the main wiring, improper protection coordination, and improper selection and parameter coordination of accessories.

In recent years, State Grid Corporation of China has implemented centralized bidding and tendering, helping the power capacitor industry solve the problem of chaotic configuration of capacitor devices and determining the development direction of the power capacitor industry. In addition, standardized bidding has corrected the problem of high wiring error rates in large capacity capacitor banks, solved the coordination and setting calculation problems of relay protection for large capacitor banks, and addressed the issue of excessive explosive energy in large capacitor banks. From the perspective of power system operation statistics, with the resolution of these issues, the operational reliability of reactive power compensation devices has been improving year by year, and the explosion and fire accidents of large capacitor banks have shown a significant downward trend.
